Installation worked well, but the add-on fails immediately

Problem

The installation worked ok and you are sure all settings are correct (crmUp user has the needed permissions, is in all the groups, account is unlocked etc.).

The diagnostics page says everything is fine.

But there is an error with a message like:

0x80040204
Invalid user auth.

Solution

The resolution is in some cases to just reboot the CRM machine. An IISReset is not sufficient. As of now, we don't know the real reason causing this. But the reboot often fixes it.

If that doesn't fix it, please double check if the crmUpUser is really in all PrivUserGroups. Doesn't harm to add it to them again using the Active Directory search function. One sometimes misses the one crucial PrivUserGroup... Afterwards, please at least IISReset (a reboot is still better) the machine and try again.
