No email reactions / error entries in Windows Application Log from customaze Email Reactions service / SQL server access denied

Problem

The product installed successfully, but there are no incoming email reactions and the application log of Windows is filled up with error entries.

The error message in those entries states that ANONYMOUS access to the SQL server is denied.



Solution

The problem is most likely related to a not fully working Kerberos configuration.

The email reaction service runs as LOCAL SYSTEM on the CRM server and thus tries to access the SQL server with the CRMMACHINE$ user. This doesn't always work and is then mapped to the anonymous user, who has no access to the SQL databases.

A simple solution is to give the crmUp-user full permissions on the CRM server (not administrative access only) and change the identity of the customaze Distribution and the customaze Email Reactions services to crmUpUser. Then restart the services.
