No email reactions / error entries in Windows Application Log from customaze Email Reactions service / Remote Server Connection Timed Out

Problem

Distribution works fine, but there are no incoming email reactions for opens / clickthroughs.

There are errors in the Windows Application Log from the customaze Email Reactions service stating that the connection to the remote server timed out.

A firewall exists that forbids connections from the CRM server to the outside world.



Solution

The firewall is the problem. The CRM server must be allowed to connect to the server anyclick.info on port 80 TCP. The customaze Email Reactions service polls that server for email reactions every 5 minutes.

To lookup the current IP address of that machine, open a cmd line and ping anyclick.info.
